And They’re Off…

Colorado may be a thousand miles from Churchill Downs, but given the state’s selection of dapper Derby events, a gal would never know. This year, Boulder is joining the ranks of jockeys and juleps with the official Boulder Derby Party, a benefit for Front Range Hippotherapy. Held at the posh CU Stadium Club at Folsom Field, Boulder Derby Party will play host to gourmet goodies, cocktails, mint juleps, live and silent auctions, music and plenty of betting as partygoers watch the race in grand style. Festive Derby attire and hats will be on display as guests dance to live bands and cheer for their favorite horse to cross the finish line, all in the name of charity. Proceeds will help provide physical, occupational and speech therapy, using horses as therapeutic tools. Front Range Hippotherapy, the party’s official (and apropos) beneficiary has been helping those with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome and more successfully manage their symptoms and become increasingly active for years, and Boulder Derby Party is poised to be a huge contributor to these efforts. Attendees can even bid on a package that includes  the use of a Ferrari California for an entire weekend. What’s more, guests making the trek from Denver (or simply those who want a bit of R&R) will receive a special group rate on rooms at the fab St Julien. Looking for a hat? And the Oscar Goes To…

As we clamor to see who’s wearing who this Sunday, Denver’s style mavens will be celebrating at a soirée all their own. Fluff Bar, Celebrity Fantasy Draft and yours truly will be hosting a pink carpet Oscar Party complete with champagne cocktails, prizes for your award predictions, specials on blowouts, light bites and plenty of celeb-gawking. Strike a pose paparazzi-style on our pink carpet and have your pic snapped with your gal pals before you enter our glam party. Once inside, you’ll get the inside scoop on Celebrity Fantasy Draft, the girlie-girl iteration of Fantasy Football (think celebs and US Weekly as opposed to QBs and TDs).
